Not sure. Been listening to some unknown talk radio announcers today and tonight and they are talking about finding Arabic literature on the border and more specifically in or around Juarez, Mexico, of possible car bomb attacks here and around the country. Juarez is located across the border from El Paso, Texas. The air base there has supposedly been put on high alert or something. We are expecting another influx of several 10 thousand illegals (kids as the media likes to call it) with Obamar's decision to do a unilateral amnesty thing. No doubt the terrorists have probably made plans to capitalize on that.
No notices at work, but then again we never get forewarned of anything; only told what to do after some disaster takes place. It will be interesting to see what develops as the 9/11 anniversary approaches. The Arabic talk chatter had picked up with terrorist groups.
I'm off 9/11 this year.

President Barack Obama said at a Democratic National Committee event Friday night that things are safer today than they were in the previous three decades.
“ promise you things are much less dangerous now than they were 20 years ago, 25 years ago or 30 years ago,” Obama said after referencing challenges posed by the Islamic State terror group, the Ukrainian crisis and China’s advancing economy.
The president’s remarks came just hours after U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron warned that his county is facing the “greatest terrorist threat” in history and as U.S. officials say there has been a “significant increase” in jihadi chatter leading up to the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Obama, however, said that the “truth of the matter” is that the “world has always been messy.”
“In part, we’re just noticing now because of social media and our capacity to see in intimate detail the hardships that people are going through,” he said. “The good news is that American leadership has never been more necessary and there’s really no competition out there for the ideas and the values that can create the sort of order that we need in this world.”
The president added that the threats posed by the Islamic State terror group in the Middle East are “not something that is comparable to the challenges faced during the Cold War.”
“This is not comparable to the challenges that we faced when we had an entire block of Communist countries that were trying to do us in,” Obama said. “This is something we can handle, because we are Americans and that’s what we do.”
The president recently came under fire after he said at a Thursday press conference that the U.S. does not “have a strategy yet” to combat the Islamic State.

For those of us who’ve been raising alarms about both the jihadist threat and the national-security vulnerability created by the Obama administration’s non-enforcement of the immigration laws, this is not a surprise — particularly less than two weeks before September 11. But it is nonetheless jarring to read. Judicial Watch has just put out this statement:
Islamic terrorist groups are operating in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and planning to attack the United States with car bombs or other vehicle born improvised explosive devices (VBIED). High-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources have confirmed to Judicial Watch that a warning bulletin for an imminent terrorist attack on the border has been issued. Agents across a number of Homeland Security, Justice and Defense agencies have all been placed on alert and instructed to aggressively work all possible leads and sources concerning this imminent terrorist threat.
Specifically, Judicial Watch sources reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas. Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.
Intelligence officials have picked up radio talk and chatter indicating that the terrorist groups are going to “carry out an attack on the border,” according to one JW source. “It’s coming very soon,” according to this high-level source, who clearly identified the groups planning the plots as “ISIS and Al Qaeda.” An attack is so imminent that the commanding general at Ft. Bliss, the U.S. Army post in El Paso, is being briefed, another source confirms. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not respond to multiple inquiries from Judicial Watch, both telephonic and in writing, about this information.
The disturbing inside intelligence comes on the heels of news reports revealing that U.S. intelligence has picked up increased chatter among Islamist terror networks approaching the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. While these terrorists reportedly plan their attack just outside the U.S., President Obama admits that “we don’t have a strategy yet” to combat ISIS. “I don’t want to put the cart before the horse,” the commander-in-chief said this week during a White House press briefing. “I think what I’ve seen in some of the news reports suggest that folks are getting a little further ahead of what we’re at than what we currently are.”
The administration has also covered up, or at the very least downplayed, a serious epidemic of crime along the Mexican border even as heavily armed drug cartels have taken over portions of the region. Judicial Watch has reported that the U.S. Border Patrol actually ordered officers to avoid the most crime-infested stretches because they’re “too dangerous” and patrolling them could result in an “international incident” of cross border shooting. In the meantime, who could forget the famous words of Obama’s first Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano; the southern border is “as secure as it has ever been.”
These new revelations are bound to impact the current debate about the border crisis and immigration policy.

A laptop reportedly recovered from an Islamic State jihadist contained a hidden trove of secret plans, including weaponizing the bubonic plague, and lessons on disguise, bomb-making and stealing cars.
A man identified by ForeignPolicy.com as Abu Ali, a commander of a moderate Syrian rebel group in northern Syria, told the publication the black laptop was seized earlier this year in a raid on an ISIS hideout in the Syrian province of Idlib, close to the border with Turkey, and belonged to a Tunisian jihadist.
"We found the laptop and the power cord in a room," Ali told ForeignPolicy.com. "I took it with me."
Initially, it appeared the computer had been scrubbed, but on closer inspection, thousands of secret files were discovered on the hard drive, which was not password protected, Ali said.
ForeignPolicy.com was permitted to copy of thousands of files, which were in French, English, and Arabic. The information included videos of Usama bin Laden, ideological justifications for jihad and tutorials on how to carry out the Islamic State's deadly campaigns.
But most chilling were files that indicated the computer's owner, identified as a Tunisian national named Muhammed S. who joined ISIS in Syria after studying chemistry and physics at two universities in Tunisia, was teaching himself how to manufacture biological weapons, in preparation for a potential attack that could have been catastrophic on a global scale. A 19-page document in Arabic included instructions on how to develop biological weapons and how to weaponize the bubonic plague from infected animals.
"The advantage of biological weapons is that they do not cost a lot of money, while the human casualties can be huge," the document states.
The document includes instructions for testing the weaponized plague before using it to attack.
"When the microbe is injected in small mice, the symptoms of the disease should start to appear within 24 hours," the document says.
While some Islamic scholars have said the use of weapons of mass destruction is prohibited, the material on the seized computer included a fatwa, or Islamic ruling, permitting it.
"If Muslims cannot defeat the kafir [unbelievers] in a different way, it is permissible to use weapons of mass destruction," states the fatwa by Saudi jihadi cleric Nasir al-Fahd, who is currently imprisoned in Saudi Arabia. "Even if it kills all of them and wipes them and their descendants off the face of the Earth."
Foreign Policy verified that the computer's owner had indeed attended a Tunisian university and studied chemistry and physics there until some time in 2011.
Thousands of Tunisians have gone to Syria to join Islamic State, according to an estimate from Tunisia's government.
Foreign Policy noted that the information on the laptop does not indicate that Islamic State possess biological weapons. But it does show they are seeking them.
"The real difficulty in all of these weapons ... [is] to actually have a workable distribution system that will kill a lot of people," Magnus Ranstorp, research director of the Center for Asymmetric Threat Studies at the Swedish National Defence College, told the publication. "But to produce quite scary weapons is certainly within [the Islamic State's] capabilities."

Ah it wasn't a big deal for the networks. After the president spoke they initially didn't talk about what he said but went on about the suit he was wearing when he said it. I guess when the suit is empty then all they can figure out to talk about is the suit! And even now the Presidents choice of dress is at least as much of a hot button issue as his admission of the failure of his administration to prepare in any way to protect the country and it's interests.

I don't even watch mainstream news media anymore. Saw a bunch more alternative news picking up these stories as well as some Texas outlets. If we have anything I'll pass it on, but then again we are reactionary, not preventative.

And all this increased chatter as we approach 9/11 is pretty frightening.

Got through talking to a higher up after Mass tonight and the city has no plans as of yet. Once again we will be totally reactionary to any threat.

I am not that worried about ISIS attacking America. The most they can do is blow up a building, or car, or even a big bridge. That does not mean America will fall. What it will mean is that it will wake up those Americans who don't give a hoot about their country as long as they collect the freebies our government dishes out to them.
That will also light a fire under Americans to wake up and start taking part in the problems America faces. The only thing most Americans worry about right now is Facebook, Tweeting and cell phone texting. More Americans are dying caused by texting while driving than are being beheaded by Muslim extremists.
I am more worried about the empty suit that so many fools elected to the white house. He is ranting about low intelligent, low wage earners getting a huge minimum raise yet he proposes the American military get only a one per cent annual raise at the end of the year. We have military families on food stamps while serving on active duty. These are the same people who are going to defend this country against those who want to destroy us!
If low wage earners would get off their ass and get an education and make themselves more useful they could maybe get a higher paying job. There will be equal opportunity and equal outcome as soon as there is equal effort and equal intelligence.
I am more worried about the destruction of America by the empty suit in the white house than I am about a bunch of clowns hiding behind black masks!

Anyone got any opinions where those 11 missing Libyan Air jetliners went to? They will be used as target practice by our Air Force and Navy no matter where they are when found, if they become a threat to the United States.

No doubt about that. I remember flying on those things back in 80 thru 82. They sucked. Food sucked. Good looking Czech flight attendants, but they were afraid to get too friendly. Couldn't blame them though because Libya sucked as a place to live in.
Just saw today some plane went down near Cuba after it left New England somewhere and all aboard were unconscious all the way till it crashed.

I saw the news about that aircraft also. Seems the dummy lost pressurization. I call him a dummy for a reason. He knew he had a pressurization problem because he requested a lower altitude. He should have put on his O2 mask and had his wife put one on also. All aircraft that can exceed 10,000 feet have O2 masks hanging by the pilots. He could have declared an emergency and they would have cleared him to descend faster. Some civilian pilots exceed their abilities by buying aircraft above their pay grade and it looks like this was one of those pilots.
Concerning Libya. Prior to Gadhafi Tripoli had an Air Base that many Airman friends of mine volunteered to be transferred there and they all claimed to have loved the place. I don't like hot places so I tried to stay in cooler countries and pretty much succeeded except for Vietnam.

Ah yes, Wheelus Air Force Base. I forgot what they call it now, but civilian and military aircraft were park at both in Tripoli. Libya had potential, but Kaddafi's take over turned the country into an Islamic paradise (not). We couldn't even get toilet paper where we were. I had to use stones and magazines way down in the desert near Marzuk.
