the ice grows. Watch the video of satellite imagery of both poles over time as the ice coverage grows in the north and remains pretty consistent in the south this time of year. Just to be clear. Sea ice is depicted in the purples and red. The darker the thicker. Ice or snow on land is depicted in white. Arctic is ocean it is all sea ice. When it changes to the antarctic you wills see the ice covered land as a white blob in the middle of the sea ice. Plenty of ice.
