A whole winters worth of precipitation coming to California in March. Possibly up to 200" of snow in the mountains in some places. Spring skiing anyone??
Daily update 3/1

It's the snow up in lake arrowhead, no? That is what is going relieve the drought. Not any rain. I also hear that California brings in its water from somewhere else.

Most of this part of California gets its water from the snow pack in the Sierras It is funneled all the distance to a reservoir just over the hill from me. The snow pack is around 87% of where it should be. It is said that if we get the rain that is predicted in the next two weeks that all the reservoirs will be over 100% full! We can only hope. They've been predicting heavy rain starting tonight, so we are waiting. Nothing happening yet.

We have rain predictions for the next week. Our reserviors are full, but I would like the rain just for the flowers, grass, trees etc so I don't have to water.

All the predictions of a deluge have proven to be false. It has only drizzled on and off for the past 3 days!

We keep hearing all the dire predictions of a deluge heading this way, but so far it's drizzled a little last night and we lost cable until this morning. The sun is shinning right now as if it were the month of August. All the predictions of rain sound like predictions of global warming, only hot air. If you want to see a real gully washer try visiting New Orleans when a rain storm comes in from the Gulf of Mexico! We used to swim in the streets when I was a kid. A rain storm like that out here would have the Mexifornians committing suicide,
Still waiting for all the predicted rain. The news clips of the cliffs falling were all from years ago when it did rain once in a while.

Well, it is day three of the predicted second coming of the floods and ... nothing! It may be drizzling up in the mountains, but here on the coast it is a normal sunny California day. It drizzled a little Saturday night and that was that! It's OK though since it is snowing up in the mountains and that's where we get our water from. The predicted deluge sounds more like Global Warming predictions. All pure bullsnot.

BTW George the pattern is continuing so you may yet get some significant precip in your little corner of CA as they have been getting further south.
For us after this warm up and rains here our winter will be returning during the 3rd week of March with a very good chance for a pretty good snow.

California is a very large state. There are areas that got rain and some thunder, and other parts received some drizzle. My area got some drizzle off and on for the past week. Nothing more. I see the news accounts of death and destruction, but it is nowhere near here, nor as bad as being described. I am glad it is snowing in the mountains. That is normal and where we get our water from. I am just tired of all the dire predictions, then Nothing!

Well the pattern is continuing so where you are may yet get some significant rain so your yard comes back.
Raining here right now and the temp is 62 deg. I'm heading off to the NE and their going to have a little cool down followed by more unseasonable warm this week. They also are in for rain. So tonight as I drive all night into the morning
