Scientists say that Greenland is getting dark, and is melting down due to rising temperatures.

There has been no net warming in Greenland over the past 90 years.

Greenland has gained 500 billion tons of snow this year, and every year more snow falls than melts off the surface during the summer

Glacial ice gets dirty because glaciers grind up rocks as they move. That is how Yosemite Valley was formed.



What does happen every summer, is that a small area of ice along the west coast of Greenland gets dark from dust and soot blowing on to it. This has nothing to do with global warming, and happens every summer.



Climate scientists need to keep their funding coming in, and they know very little about science, so they make up stories about things like Greenland melting down and feed them to the press – who eagerly lap them up.

I think around 800 A D there was a warming period in Greenland. When it went away it appeared never to have returned.

Yes it was the MWP or Medieval Warming Period. That is when Eric the Red and his son Leif Erickson lived. When forests were found on the the coasts of Southern Greenland. The stumps of some of the trees are still found in places where the ice does not cover them. It basically lasted from the 9th to the 13th century AD. It pretty much coincides with the middle ages in Europe.

Before the Middle Ages were the "Dark Ages" from about 470 to 800 BC which BTW coincide with a period of global cooling. And after the MWP came the LIA or Little Ice Age which went on between the 15th and 19th Century. A period of cold, and in Europe famine, which among other things, drove immigration to this land. And BTW it also helped our founders win the American Revolution. Right in between the MWP and the LIA is where you find the great plague or "Black Death" recorded. My own personal theory is that during the MWP human migration increased. As the environment cooled people tended to move more of their activities inside where they were in closer contact with the rats that were the reservoirs for the disease for a larger part of their daily lives.

Climate change has and will continue to greatly effect human history. The very issue of human caused climate change is changing our own history in our life times right now though there is very little truth behind it.

Who really knows where our climate is going? I don't know, but if I had to bet I would say buying in Florida or even further south is a much better bet than buying in Newfoundland. IOW I believe those that claims we're heading into a colder climate and not the profuse alarming warming propaganda this administration and it's plethora of paid off "scientists" continue to pump out.

But WTF do I know? I'm just a truck driver dabbling in the science. What I do know is that our government agencies are lying to us concerning the weather record. What I do know is that as of last week NOAA blocked the access to the average Joe of their temperature data: NCDC Blocks Access To GHCN And USHCN Data This is information that we tax payers pay for and there is no conceivable legitimate reason of any type for blocking access to it.
