Went to the last outside race in Indiana this year up in Kokomo. Good night of racing but it was in the low 50s and we had a pretty strong wind right in our faces so I was bundled up like it was winter. I was filthy when I came in the door at 01:30 this morning because the wind blew the dust from the track right into our faces. After a shower climbed into bed at 02:41 and out went the lights until 06:30 when the pup woke me up licking me in the face to let me know she had to go out. Out we went and she quickly did her business and I was back in bed until 08:45 when Sherry woke me to get ready for the days activities.
Today the pup had her first trip to the groomers. Told the groomer to trim her with the idea that it will grow in for a show cut. We wanna see her with her full skirt at least once though it really isn't practical to keep her that way. We dropped her off, had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Stopped by the drug store for Sherry to get some stuff. Then went home until the groomer called.
After picking up the pup and bringing her home Sherry go busy getting the fireplace ready. I went out and bought a new 45" long x 40" high x 13" wide log rack with cover for the living room. I filled it up with the dry wood I have stored in the lean too coming of the back of my garage and we now have enough wood inside for probably 60-70 hours worth of fires. Got one started for Sherry and she is now curled up in the recliner with the pup watching TV and enjoying the fire on this cool wet day. First fire of the season.
I am now sitting here relaxing a little with my first Jack & Coke of probably 3 that I will have this afternoon. But my work isn't done. Sitting outside in the FJ is a box containing a deck box needing to be assembled. I'll bring it into the dining room to assemble it since we have a cold rain coming down as we have had all day on and off. With all the outside furniture we have now it takes two deck boxes to store the cushions in. Once that is done my labors for this Saturday are done.
Expect to be called out Sunday. Not sure but would not be surprised if it wasn't a Nestles load bound for somewhere out east.
