Someone asked yesterday on the BBC tweets whether, in the event of Scotland going for independence, Canada might also hold a referendum on whether to to break away from the USA, and be independent!

I like the Scots. I like the brough. I like the bag pipes. I think the Claymore is awesome. And I like their wool. And I like their country side and warrior history. But their food? Well that may be another matter. But besides that, any men that will wear a skirt around with nothing under it that are not cross dressers and are comfortable in it, have my vote for being manly man.

That referendum was more important than most Americans realize. We have a nuke submarine base at Holy Lock. Donny and I used to fly missions into Prestwick Scotland bringing replacement submariners from Charleston Naval Base for 90 day tours of duty on our nuke subs. The only other nuke sub base I know of in Europe the base at Rota Spain. The Scots vowed to kick nukes and the submarines out of Scotland had they won their independence.
Not only that, but Great Britain is the only world partner America can count on for support around the world. If Great Britain is diminished so is America's support in the world. That election was more important than most Americans realize! We need all the support we can get at this point in history
