"Geisha" is a 10 weeks old American Cocker Spaniel. APRI registered. A Merle Chocolate, White, and Tan. She wasn't cheap but I strongly suspect she'll be worth it.

Still enroute. We pick her up at the airport on Wed.
Sire 22 lb., Dame 16 lb. so like our old Cocoa, she will be petite. I still have a weeks vacation I need to use before the end of October so I am going to take to be home with her that first week after she arrives. After that Sherry will drive home from work at lunch time every day when I'm on the road to walk her and of course remain with her when she gets home from work.
Looking forward to it. This will be our fourth Cocker. I can see the traits in the photos and a video. She is special.

That's one beautiful pup, my friend. This world would be a dreary place if we didn't have dogs to love! Gonna take her on the road with you now and then?

That's one beautiful pup, my friend. This world would be a dreary place if we didn't have dogs to love! Gonna take her on the road with you now and then? Not allowed to have pets in a company truck. Besides I would have to break Sherry's leg or steal out in the night with that pup if I could take her.
Nope a house is not a home without pet hair and as much as we enjoy Gabby the cat, she just isn't a dog. It was as if it was meant to be. We started looking awhile back and then got Gabby and were busy with her for a time. Then Wed. night laying in bed Sherry told me "I'm ready for a puppy....". I got called out Thursday morning and got back from Shelbyville, TN Friday afternoon. Sherry came home and my daughter was over. As they were sitting at the table I sat and started looking for a pup again. One of the places I had looked before is here: Purebred Puppies. .
I scrolled down looking for females and there she was. I didn't even click on any of the others because Geisha just stood out like she was there for us. Sherry and Niki looked and after they stopped their ohhing and ahhhing I made the call right then and went through the buying process and so she will fly in to Indy from Missouri on Wed.

In the Spring of 2008 I took a train trip to New Orleans to visit my childhood best friend. While there we visited his son's family and I saw a beautiful blue eyed Siberian chained in the sunlight of the son's back yard. It was very hot and humid. There was no water and no food for the dog. The people had shaved off the poor dog's coat thinking that would cool him in the hot humidity of New Orleans.
I fell in love with that Husky named Blitz and felt so bad for him. When we got back to my friends house I told him I would sure love to have that Husky. He told me that his son had been trying to get rid of Blitz because he had destroyed their leather couch and had in fact gave him away to some people who kept him for a couple months and then returned Blitz to my friend's son.
I called Sandra and told her about Blitz and she said to bring him back to California any way I can. My friend called his son and talked him into giving Blitz to me and the son threw in $300 for me to take Blitz off his hands. I cancelled my train ticket, rented an SUV. That was a mistake because I would have had more room if I had rented a Sedan. The SUV had extra seats installed that took up any extra room that I had counted on.
I was surprised to find all the motor hotels that allowed dogs into their rooms, so off Blitz and I took from new Orleans to San Francisco. Stopping and sleeping was no problem, but pit stops were very depressing. Signs said pets were not allowed in rest rooms, but the temps ran around 100 degrees along I-10 back to California. I broke several laws by bringing Blitz into bathrooms with me and did pay an Indian selling trinkets to watch him for me at one stop in Arizona.
The trip was very hard on Blitz and I got sick as a dog the second day out. The first time I stopped for gas in Beaumont TX Blitz slipped out of his collar and took off for parts unknown. I spent three hours looking for him and had given up and was pulling out of the station when I saw a guy with a rope around Blitz's neck. I was so excited about getting him back I failed to reward the guy or even get his name. I still feel very bad for not rewarding the guy.
It took three days but we finally made it back to California and I think those three days traveling with Blitz got him close to me. He even slept on my bed for several months after getting to CA. It took over a month before he settled down and stopped trying to escape. He was homesick for several months before he finally gave up and decided this was home. Now he is a great dog and has not destroyed one single thing since he's been here.

I remember that my friend. I think it was on that trip you came by Dallas and Jer and I got to meet you? Yea that has to be it because the only other major trip you've made since I've known you was the one on AMTRAC. Here are some more pics.

She sure is a beautiful pup and I envy you all. I always said that if I ever won a major lottery I would build the biggest rescues outfit in the middle of the country and no animal would ever have to be put down.
I made three trips back east. The first was by train from San Francisco to Chicago, on to Florida and return to San Francisco The second trip I took a train from here to Chicago and then on to New Orleans on a train called " The City of New Orleans" That's when we got Blitz. It was on my third trip that I drove a rented car across country and that's when I met you, Jer, Minnie, BillsX2 and several of my old C-141 flying buddies along with my son Brett in Jacksonville FL again.
Too old and decrepit to make that long hall anymore. In fact I quit driving a year ago and sold my Pathfinder. Sandra is my chauffer now, but the only places I go now are to the civilian doctor, or the VA.
