I was bicycling with my street gang today down at White Rock Lake and we stopped at the spillway to look at and photograph the results of yesterday's rain. Low and behold I caught a glimpse of a large, 6 to 8 foot, Python laying on a rock at the bottom. The "branch" next to it had it's mouth wide open and actually chased the Python off for a little sun bathing of it's own. 2 huge snakes. I have only heard wives' tales of large critters at the lake. Now I have seen, albeit with a cell phone pic that doesn't have good resolution. We stood and watched the show for about 10 minutes and the photo below will give you some idea of the size of these well fed creatures.

I missed that. I have lots of advice on getting it caught and relocated. It was probably someone's pet at one time and got too big to handle. I had posted a while back about a baby ball python on my front porch which I think crept up from our creek.

Any way you cut it they need to be taken care of Jer. Nothing good can come from them multiplying there. If the authorities can't or won't act you need to take the problem into your own hands. Personally a .22 would not be a bad way of dealing with the problem if you could get away with it. But one way or another, those snakes and their offspring need to be gotten rid of.

It would be virtually impossible to get that with a .22 in such a public place. Lots of people know about it now. We went back there today and didn't see anything but it was overcast and the sun didn't come out till later. We are watching closely now.
